Paul Inman's Delivery offer up a unique 21st century Americana music, forging a folk/rock palette which delves deep into other influences: Gothic-tinged lyrical and aural landscapes, pop hooks, thunderous guitar/blues rock, even hints of electronica.
"From the Anteroom's of Night" is the third offical release from Paul Inman's Delivery (technically, the first release, "Rattlesnake Heat", was billed as being by Paul Inman)and represents somewhat of a departure in style and sound in that it incorporates elements of blues,Gothic rock,a touch of hip hop,and power pop to the already eclectic mix of cosmic Americana that Paul Inman's Delivery have been mining and offering up over the past decade. Recently returned from European tours, the band, which is a core of Paul Inman (Vocals, guitars, keyboards, and harmonica), Robert Dill (drums and percussion), and Jeff LeGore (bass guitar and vocals),occassionally augmented live by a percussionist and female backup singer, often performs around the Los Angeles area, where it is based, while Inman criss-crosses the U.S.as a solo acoustic act. A native of Detroit,Inman holds a fondnesss for that city's groundbreaking and cutting edged acts such as the MC5, the Stooges, the earlt Bog Seger System, Alice Cooper, the White Stripes, and the earsplitting sludge of Grand Funk Railroad, who he affiliates with philosophically, if not sonically. "That stark, intense, and darkly inimate approach to songcraft, recording, and performing has left an indelible mark on my soul from childhood days up to the present", he says,"although lyrically I am much more influenced by the likes of Dylan, Donovan, the Morrison's (Van and Jim), and Townes Van Zandt". "I like to think of my musical pallete as being a cross between these various artists, sort of Mott the Hoople and Neil Young, or David Bowie and the Waterboys". On "From the Anterrooms of Night", the band's eclectic folk rock sound is stretched further with the multi-instrumental textures provided by producer/engineer Larry Goetz (Edgar Winter, Alejandro Escovedo, Maroon 5, War, and others),who co-produced this CD as well as the first two.He was ably aided by Chuck Sparks, former drummer for Interscope recording artists Trailer Park Pam, and now a stellar producer/engineer in his own right in Los Angeles. Currently, Paul Inman's Delivery is working on a 4th album, this one to be released in mid 2006.
